Islands=27 So now that I'm spending about 10 months in the Philippines, I'll be living the Manila life, reconnecting with my extended family and hopefully learning my Tagalog. Um yea getting bit all over your face by mosquitos. The past couple of days I got bit in my sleep and my eye and lower lip were swollen. I looked like Quasimodo. Now, the swelling's gone down but it just looks like I have bad acne. I hesitate on using DEET based products on my face. IF worse comes to worse I'll be getting a mosquito net and becoming a true filipina.

Rissa O here. I'm spending 9 months in the Philippines to do some Fulbright research in QC. Afterwards, I'll be spending a few weeks in Australia.
