On Becoming Filipina in 10 months...

Islands=27 So now that I'm spending about 10 months in the Philippines, I'll be living the Manila life, reconnecting with my extended family and hopefully learning my Tagalog. I'll also be tallying how many times people ask me if I have a boyfriend and how times they tell me I'm fat. McFattie: 14 McSingle: 22

Baguio day trip

Because Laurita and I are crazy, we decided to accompany CATW on their Baguio retreat, which was the day before Laura and I were supposed to be going to Boracay.  Laura had gone to the ER just the day before and we were going to have a crazy amount of traveling to do during the week. Our bosses were training Bagong Kamalayan, a support group of survivors of prostitution.  It was an emotional training and I'm glad we were able to go.  I didn't post any pictures of the women though. Unfortunately, we didn't stay long enough to go sightseeing and I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the beatiful view. Some of these are Laura's shots

Some of the kiddies that came along on the trip.  Most of the survivors were mommies so the kids came along too. It was exhausting playing with them.
