Puerto Galera and the Typhoon Gloria

So apparently we tried to take a wonderful resort vacation to Puerto Galera right during when Typhoon Gloria (renamed Glenda cuz GMA flipped out) payed a visit to the isles.  It was a miserable weekend but we made the most of it. 

We took the ferry early on Saturday morning, which was a traumatic experience for me.

and then i got sick. I mean really.. really seasick. After about half an hour being tossed about at sea I lost it.  Not one of my shining moments, let me tell you.  In between puking in a potato chip bag and clinging onto 6x6 for dear life, while whimpering and crying, I felt quite awesome.

Was it worth the awful journey.  Of course!  The sky was overcast the entire time, with hours of sporadic rain, but it was just nice to get out of the city.

this was a sticker on our refrigerator.  cute, but disturbing at the same time. At least they're all about diversity?

Sushi night, a couple Fridays ago.

Well, sushi night happened after a hardcore night of dancing at Absinth and 7 hours of work.  We went on this mad goose chase for sushi ingredients at the local grocery store and then got back to the apartment at 9.  I had wanted to show off my mad cooking skills and it was sort of a comedy of errors.  Regardless, I did pretty good for myself and everything turned out quite yummy.

Absinth, we can't stop!

So it was a wild thursday night at with the crew we rounded up.  Six and Kikoman were out in full force on the dance floor.  Lots of lovely people around and a fair amount of drinking.
