On Becoming Filipina in 10 months...

Islands=27 So now that I'm spending about 10 months in the Philippines, I'll be living the Manila life, reconnecting with my extended family and hopefully learning my Tagalog. I'll also be tallying how many times people ask me if I have a boyfriend and how times they tell me I'm fat. McFattie: 14 McSingle: 22

Work Despedida I

It's been fun working with the CATW people.  Never have I met so many amazing women (and 2 men) in one place before.  Each one of them has such a unique personality that they bring to work, and it's been wonderful getting to know them.  I'm inspired by such passion and I hope I can keep in contact with them.

We started the evening at a mongolian grill

Laura was a latecomer but she managed to scarf down 2 bowls before we all headed out.

and then we all headed over to the 70s Bistro, my first and only bar in QC that I managed to go to.  It's apparently a favorite hangout of some activists and NGO workers.  My kinda people!

Absinth= Addiction

Here were are partying at Absinth again, as if we didn't do it already the previous Monday night.  I was going away for the weekend so we partied it up.

This section should have been called the Artsy Black and White Drunkenness.

Absinth-Monday

And because Puerto Galera wasn't enough vacationing, we headed over to Absinth (after watching Lady in the Water) for a little dancy fun.  There wasn't much going on, but the usual crowd was there.

I don't know why i was such an oompa loompa in this picture

Puerto Galera III

Ok, well these aren't really from PG anymore, just the tail end of the

weekend. This time, I was prepared and had hunted down some

dramamine. Also, the seas were calm so it was a relatively enjoyable

ferry ride back. I recall the last ferry ride back from PG was so

peaceful and breezy, and this one wasn't really as calming, but I'm

just glad we weren't being tossed around.

i'm smiling because god blessed our trip

So here are some more pictures.  I had posted this detailed post with all these pictures but of course my internet had to crap up and I lost everything.  What you get now is an abbreviated version.

Despite the trip not being what I expected, it was still pretty fun and relaxing.
